Flashback Friday 3/02

A little late...but it's still Friday!

(As I post this wee in the hours of a fresh new Saturday morning...oops. Hey, having a new baby gets my schedule all messed up!)

I was going through pictures for the boys' birthday posts on my blog this week. I saw so many pictures that I had forgotten about and just love. I really need to print them out in an album...one day. :(

But they shouldn't just sit their collecting virutal dust while I drag my feet on getting them printed.

Every Friday I'm going to have a "Flashback Friday" to a favorite photo from my digital archives...in no random order.

Brayden, 18 mo old...getting caught playing in the pots and pans.  Don't you just love the look on his face? And wow his hair...he had the most and thickest hair out of all of my kids. I love it!

And now for the last (but not the least!) of the Feburary birthday boys....
Happy 10th birthday Brayden!

Brayden, my little firecracker, has taught me more about myself and parenting in just these first 10 years then I ever imagined I could learn.

I pray the next 10 years are all smooth sailing! (hah!)

Teenager: The New Frontier

Well its another first for me, starting today. I will officially be the mom of a teenager.
*shudder*

I just pray that he is a much kinder teenager to me then I was to my mom! However, I know I have the Mom Curse on me, so that is unlikely (i.e. I hope you'll have one Just Like You).

I've learned a lot these last 13 years -mostly how to grow up really fast and leave my own teenage years behind. I've made a lot of mistakes (what person doesn't?!) but what counts is that I've learned from them and I hope to teach my son better.

Happy Birthday Alex! Welcome to the teenage years....please be gentle with me.

Its Birthday Week! Starting with Billy Jr....

Our crazy week of presents and cake every other night starts this week! And this year is a year of big birthday milestones.... Billy Jr will turn 5 and get to start school in the Fall, Owen will turn 8 (in April) and get to be baptised and start Cub Scouts, Brayden will jump into the double digits and turn 10 (and start Webelos!), and Alex will *gasp* start his teen years at 13!

First we start with BILLY JR!

Billy Jr was my BIGGEST baby at a whopping 9 lbs 12 oz.

Here is my sweet little boy with a big heart, on his first day of life and today at 5. :)

Gabe-o Turns 3!

I am still playing a bit of post catch-up. Oops!

So a couple weeks ago, Gabe-o had his THIRD birthday!

He was so excited. He can finally hold up three fingers and say he is "tree" now.

For his birthday he requested a Sponge-Bob cake (although when he says it, it sounds more like "Bomb Bomb"). He also asked for Toy Story, Woody, Jessi, Buzz. However, he already has nearly every Toy Story toy known to man.
So we got him a Buzz hat, a Toy story shirt, and a new Toy story bedding set - as well as a Power Ranger.
Somehow, Power Ranger have made a comback in my house. I remember when *I* was a kid and making fun of the boys at recess who were obsessed with Power Rangers and jumping around imitating them all the time.

So...without further ado, here are Gabe-o's birthday pictures!! Happy birthday little buddy! :)

A couple days later I found his candle hidden under my desk. It looks like he tried to sneak a bite out of this too!!

Lesson Learned

Last night after dinner, Billy sat down on the couch to find a piece of paper wedged between the cushions where he usually sits. He took it out and read it. Soon he was laughing and reading it outloud.

I can't deny that Alex is quite the clever one! I also can't deny that we are gullible parents.

Because we fell for it.

And guess what...he didn't get his room done.

Hey at least it  makes for a cute keepsake, and hopefully a couple lessons learned!
